Proposal overview
Against a shortfall of roughly one billion trips a year in regional Japan, we run a mutual-support "fare-free shuttle service" that combines idle vehicles with corporate sponsorship. By owning no vehicles ourselves and focusing on providing the system and taking on operations, we achieve high margins. At our first base in Makinohara we will test viability by focusing on night-time transport to and from restaurants, which public services do not reach. This addresses the shortage of taxis, designated-driver services and drivers, while also helping restaurants attract customers and stimulating the night-time economy. Once we have established a proven model in Makinohara together with local companies, we will expand rapidly from within Shizuoka to 100 municipalities nationwide, aiming to eliminate transport blank spots across Japan and set a new standard for sustainable regional mobility.
